DYLAN DREYER SHARES HEARTWARMING FAMILY SURPRISE AFTER RETURNING FROM FRANCE
Following her recent assignment abroad in France for Today, Dylan Dreyer received a warm welcome back home, wasting no time before rolling out a major surprise for a very special person in her life.
On Friday, the meteorologist took to Instagram to post a cheerful snapshot cozying up on the couch surrounded by a house full of "boys"—including her three sons, Calvin, Oliver, and Rusty, alongside her two older brothers, Mike and James. The Today show fan favorite revealed she secretly flew her brothers in to celebrate their father Jim’s landmark 80th birthday.
Alongside the family photograph, which also featured her dad, Dylan wrote: "Surprised my dad for his 80th by flying in my brothers! Lots of family time and so…many…boys!!!! Happy birthday to the best dad in the world!!"
Because the Dreyer siblings are spread across three different states, getting together in person is a rare treat. During a previous appearance on National Siblings Day, her brother James opened up about how proud the family is of her broadcast career, sharing how they always bombard her with questions about her travels and high-profile assignments whenever they meet.
Behind the Scenes of Her French Assignment
Dylan’s trip across the Atlantic took her to Paris and Saint Nazaire to check out the brand-new MSC World America cruise ship during its final construction phase. Sharing updates from her travels, she posted photos on board with captions highlighting her daily routine: "Coat, or no coat. The important decisions this morning live from Saint Nazaire, France aboard the brand new @msccruisesofficial World America as they complete the finishing touches!"
The Today Third Hour team is set to broadcast a special episode live from Miami ahead of the ship's maiden voyage. Reflecting on the trip, Dylan mentioned she jumped at the chance to head to France without even asking producers for the details.
True to form, even while sampling local French pastries overseas, her mind stayed close to home. She shared her determination to recreate a safe treat for her oldest son, Calvin, who has celiac disease, teasing a potential future edition of her cooking segment: "I’m determined to make a gluten free version when I’m back home. Next Cooking with Cal???"
